In Midtown, Stay Where You Play

For the weekend of my wife's birthday, I got tickets to not one but two Broadway shows (no, not "Hamilton," try as I might) and reserved a room at the Midtown Manhattan Hilton.

That was a good time. Of course, it helped that we were already centrally located for our excursions, with the Theater District at our literal fingertips and world-class restaurants mere steps away. It was great.

Before one show, I got to treat my wife to some quality spa time in the new Bluemercury cosmetics store by Barry Beck they'd recently added to the Hilton's ground floor. That really scored points.

You might think you're helping yourself by lodging out in New Jersey or on Long Island, but there's no substitute for plopping yourself down in the center of it all. We'll be doing that again.
